Although I don’t consider myself a professional poker player I have been playing for over four years and I have plenty to learn. I started when my younger brother brought a couple friends over to play; I haven’t been the same man since it changed my life. I understood poker is not just a game but if you discipline yourself and really go at it becomes into a way of life.
I started by playing in Pacific Poker which makes it easy when starting out you can practice all you want and I was even given some “play money” to start with. As much as I loved the game I was always afraid of getting into other online poker casinos for the hesitation of credit card fraud, information sharing etc. Finally curiosity got a hold of me and I couldn’t wait any longer so I just dove in for the challenge.
Like always when beginning a new adventure there re always pitfalls, here I was fairly new at poker and even newer at online gambling and I was getting in way over my head. I started by signing up to every poker club I could get in to for small fees. I finally found some larger well worth online poker sites, if I would have done my homework better I would have found out that by referrals or special club links these same online poker clubs would have given me a much larger entry pot and credits.
I started by playing two-three hours a day and saw myself getting better and better. Of course this is always followed by wanting to play more and more, not something my wife was thrilled about, but when you find a hobby like this its hard to let go.
Once I got the hang of it, I started organizing weekly poker games at my house with some friends, this not only added experience to my game but also makes it easier when being able to play with people face to face.
